
José Ramón Arévalo Sierra, Prof. PhD
Dr. José Ramón Arévalo Sierra currently teaches in the Master’s program in Hydrological Restoration at the University of Applied Sciences in Magdeburg (Germany) and has been nominated as an affiliated professor at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Mexico).
Dr. José Ramón Arévalo Sierra graduated from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Málaga. He holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management from the University of Phoenix (Arizona, USA) and a PhD from the University of La Laguna, where he is Professor of Ecology. He was an assistant professor of Ecology at Oklahoma State University (USA). Author of over 200 scientific articles and nine books, including his best-known work, “Liberal Ecology for Non-Ecologists and Non-Liberals”, he is editor-in-chief of the international scientific journal Ecologies. He received the 2024 Freedom Award from the Canary Islands Liberal Club of 1812. He has conducted significant research on the impact of fires on ecosystems, invasive species and the impact of extensive livestock farming.
