
Luka Juvančič, Prof. PhD
Luka Juvančič, agricultural and resource economist, is Professor of Economics of Natural Resources at the University of Ljubljana, Biotechnical Faculty.
His research experience spans widely in terms of roles (researcher, principal investigator, or project leader), substance (agricultural and rural development policies, risk management, valorisation of ecosystem services, bioeconomy) and methods (econometric modelling, system modelling, environmental accounting, economic experiments). Economic, environmental and societal challenges of the transition to bioeconomy are deeply anchored in his research and professional record. He has been been actively engaging in recognising success factors and providing evidence base in several applied research projects (most notably in the context of countries participating in BIOEAST initiative). He actively participates in relevant professional associations and advisory bodies; currently, he is serving his second mandate as Co-Chair of the Standing Committee for Agricultural Research (SCAR), Bioeconomy Working Group.
