
Ludger A. Wessjohann, Prof. PhD.
Prof. Dr. Ludger A. Wessjohann is a prominent figure in the field of Bioorganic and Natural Product Chemistry.
Since 2000, he has concurrently served as the Director of the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry at the renowned Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry (IPB) in Halle and as a Full Professor at the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. His research is focused on Molecular Interactions in Medicinal Chemistry, covering the total synthesis of natural products, biocatalysis, and the development of new synthetic methods, such as Multicomponent Reactions (MCRs). With extensive academic experience, including a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford and a professorship in Amsterdam, and as the founder of seven start-up companies, he is internationally recognized, holding an H-Index of 77 and being a member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
