
Estrella I. Agüera Buendía, Prof. PhD.
Estrella I. Agüera Buendía is a full Professor of Physiology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Cordoba (Spain).
I completed postdoctoral training in Sweden and Argentina. I held the positions of vice-dean for international relations and coordinator of the Erasmus programme. I obtained a PhD in Veterinary Medicine and coordinate the Animal Welfare and Sustainable Development Goals Area within the Cartuja Stud Chair. Principal Investigator of the Research Group AGR 019 “Applied Animal Physiology for Veterinary Species,” with research focused on animal welfare and reproduction. I have directed and participated in leading research projects and published numerous scientific articles in high impact journals. Participated as Spanish delegate in the COST Action FA1308 “Dairy Care.” Extensive experience in teaching, research, technology transfer and veterinary consultancy in the areas of cattle and equine management. Full member of the Royal Academies of Veterinary Sciences in Seville and Eastern Andalusia, and an expert evaluator for EAEVE (Basic Sciences). Member of the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme in Biosciences and Agri-Food Sciences at the University of Cordoba. International Evaluator of the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ARACIS) (Evaluation in 2021 of doctoral studies of the Universities of Cluj-Napoca and Craiova Romania).
