Dr. Abdelkader Laribi, Associate Professor, Soil Science Department – École Nationale Supérieure d’Agronomie (ENSA), Algiers, Algeria
Dr. Laribi is a soil scientist specializing in digital soil mapping, soil chemistry, and precision agriculture using GIS and remote sensing. He formerly served as Head of the Soil Science Department and is currently Deputy Director for External Relations and Communication at ENSA. He coordinates curriculum development and outreach for EU‑funded projects such as CUPAGIS (Erasmus CBHE), integrating geospatial technologies and machine learning into soil and agricultural sciences. He has contributed to research on soil fertility, trace metal background levels, and sustainable land management in Mediterranean and semi-arid areas. His recent supervisory research includes mapping nutrient indices, soil organic carbon and soil salinity in semi‑arid regions of Algeria using Landsat and Sentinel data. He has contributed to national and international projects on sustainable agriculture, soil pollution assessment and land degradation, with an emphasis on trace metal background levels. Dr. Laribi is also a member of the Spanish Society of Agroengineering.
