Prof. dr Maurizio Lambardi
Maurizio Lambardi is Senior Researcher of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy at the IBE-Institute for BioEconomy of Florence.
Maurizio Lambardi is Senior Researcher of the National Research Council (CNR) of Italy at the IBE-Institute for BioEconomy of Florence, and has the National Scientific Qualification as ‘Full-Professor’ in the sector 07/B2-Arboriculture and Forest Systems. He is the former Director of the CNR-IVALSA (Trees and Timber Institute), Chairman of the Society for Low Temperature Biology, and he was Lecturer at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia on Woody Plant Biotechnology and Micropropagation. In the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), he is the Vice-Chair of the Division ‘Plant Genetic Resources and Biotechnology’, and Country Representative for Italy. He is presently General Secretary of the SOI (Italian Society of Horticulture), Coordinator of the Italian Working Group on “Micropropagation and In vitro Techniques”, Corresponding Academic of the ‘Accademia dei Georgofili’ and Honorific Member of the SHST/Horticulture and Forestry Society from Transylvania. Dr. Lambardi has wide-ranging expertise in plant biotechnology and in vitro culture systems. He has been invited speaker at many national and international congresses and post-degree courses, and is author or co-author of more than 180 scientific papers, reviews, books and book chapters on plant tissue culture, micropropagation, in vitro conservation and cryopreservation. He is presently member of the Editorial Board of several ISI Journals, among which Acta Physiologiae Plantarum, Plant Cell Tissue and Organ Culture, CryoLetters, Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici and Propagation of Ornamental Plants, as well as reviewer for various other international Journals in the field of plant tissue culture and biotechnology.
