Martin Potthoff is senior lecture and scientific coordinator at the Center of Biodiversity and Sustainable Land Use (CBL) at the University of Göttingen
Germany. After graduation in Göttingen he stayed in Göttingen and worked on soil ecological impacts of low input farming systems (PhD) and microbial processes in soil (C and N cycling, Post-Doc). In the US at UC Davis he joined a grassland restoration project, doing research on plant microbe interactions (Department of Land, Air and Water Resources). Back in Germany he worked at the Department of Soil Biology at the University of Kassel. Here he obtained habilitation based on his research on functional impacts of soil biota. Since 2006 he is coordinating land use science and soil ecological science at CBL, Göttingen.
