
Gilles Dupré
Gilles Dupré graduated in France and did his surgical training both in France and in the USA where he was resident in small animal surgery
He spent then 17 years in Paris as co-head and surgeon of a large referral practice in Paris. Since 2005, he is Professor for small animal surgery and Head of the clinic for small animal surgery, ophthalmology, dentistry, physical therapy and rehabilitation of veterinary medicine University of Vienna, Austria.
Gilles Dupré is Diplomate of the European college of Veterinary Surgeons and Diplomate of human interventional pneumology and thoracoscopic surgery.
Professor Dupré has published hundreds of articles in peer-reviewed journals, supervised many thesis and dissertations and written many surgery book chapters. He is involved in numerous committees, Board member of the European School for Advanced Veterinary Surgery and Program director for the small animal surgery program. Overall, he is a passionate teacher and advocate of atraumatic surgery as a key to success. His main surgical interests are mini-invasive, upper airways and oncologic surgery. Beside a pretty intense professional life, Professor Dupré is also musician and fond of many sports (running, sailing, skiing).
