Dr Sanja Aleksić-Kovačević, Ph.D.
Dr Sanja Aleksić-Kovačević is Head of Pathology Department, at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade,full professor at Department of pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade,since 2005.She obtained her PhD in Veterinary pathology, at University of Belgrade in 1993, after one year PhD doctoral fellowship funded by DAAD at Veterinary Pathology Department, University of Giessen, Germany. Her scientific activities are related to tumor pathology and infectious diseases in field of veterinary pathology.
Currently Prof. Aleksic-Kovacevic is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal Acta Veterinaria, Beograd awarded as Editor-in-Chief, 2016 and editorial board member of one national scientific journal. She was two national project leader, few national and one international project participant. Sheis presentlyBoard Member/Councillor and Scientific Committee Member of ESVP- European Society of Veterinary Pathology, Councillor of Group for Medical Science at University of Belgrade and Councillor of Scientific Institutes Group at University of Belgrade. She was Director and invited speaker in Eastern Europe Pathology Symposium, Charles Louis Davis Foundation, USA, Belgrade, 2004 as well as Member of Organizing Committee of Meeting of the European Society of Veterinary Pathology in Belgrade, 2010.She was mentor of 10 PhD thesis and author of2 monographs, 1 book and over 60 research articles in refereed journalsin field of Veterinary pathology.Invited speaker at national and international scientific veterinary meetings. Her international experience, over 3 years was at:University Minas Gerais- Brasil, University Hohenheim – Germany, Institute for Pathology, University Giessen- Germany, Institute for pathology, University Leipzig- Germany, Neuropathology Department, University of Bern- Swiss, Prionics BSE Lab. – Swiss.Languages skills: fluent in English, German and Italian.
