Tibor graduated from the University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest (UVMB) in Hungary in 1991.
After fulfilling internship he remained at the Department and Clinic of Surgery and Ophthalmology in UVMB as Assistant Professor and started dealing with small animal surgery with special interest in soft tissue procedures. He completed and defended his PhD thesis in 2000 in the field of canine renal transplantation. He became a national specialist of small animal clinical studies in 2003, then gained habilitation doctor (dr. habil.) degree of the University in 2004 and also became the Associate Professor of Surgery. He has been the Head of the department since 2005. He joined the European College of Veterinary Surgeons (ECVS) as alternate trainee in 2006 and completed the VST programme by 2009, passing the qualifying exam and becoming a Diplomate of ECVS in 2013. He has visited several academic clinics and teaching hospitals as visiting or guest lecturer or Professor, e.g. Dublin, Vienna, Hannover, Utrecht, Madrid, Helsinki, Knoxville (University of Tennessee, USA), Philadelphia (University of Pennsylvania, USA). He was senior lecturer in University College Dublin in Ireland in 2011 and 2012. He has been the deputy Rector for clinical affairs at UVMB since 2012. His special surgical interests are minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy, thoracoscopy), oncological and plastic, abdominal and thoracic surgery.
